MOSTAQBAL Held a Session to Discuss the Environmental Impact Assessment Findings for the Project Marine Science & Biology Exhibition
MOSTAQBAL Engineering & Environmental Consultants held a discussion session in collaboration with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) to display the findings of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the Marine Science & Biology Exhibition Project in Marsa Zayed.
During the session, stakeholders reviewed the study’s findings and provided feedback to ensure the project aligned with environmental standards and sustainable development requirements.
Project Overview:
The project aims to establish a Science Hub and Public Aquarium spanning 30,000 m² in Marsa Zayed, the former site of Aqaba’s old port, which closed in 2018. As part of Marsa Zayed’s master plan, the site is strategically located near the coastline, allowing an efficient seawater supply to the aquarium with minimal environmental impact.
The development will cover 6,600 m², with the remaining space dedicated to landscaping, parking, and support facilities. The project will serve as a key scientific and tourism destination in the city.

تم خلال الجلسة استعراض نتائج الدراسة أمام الحضور القائمين على المشروع من أصحاب المصلحة، حيث تمت مناقشة آرائهم واقتراحاتهم لضمان توافق المشروع مع المعايير البيئية ومتطلبات التنمية المستدامة.
ملخص المشروع:
يهدف المشروع إلى إنشاء معرض للعلوم والاحياء البحرية على مساحة 30,000 م² في مرسى زايد، الموقع السابق لميناء العقبة القديم، ضمن المخطط الرئيسي لتطوير المنطقة. يتميز الموقع بقربه من الساحل، مما يسهل توفير المياه البحرية للمتحف مع تقليل التأثير البيئي.
يمتد المشروع على مساحة مبنية تبلغ 6,600 م²، بينما ستخصص المساحة المتبقية للمسطحات الخضراء، مواقف السيارات، والخدمات المساندة. يتميز المشروع بأهميته كوجهة علمية وسياحية في العقبة.
