Al-Lajun Waste Water Treatment Plant is located approximately 20km east of Al-Karak City. The project originated from the need to treat waste water from septic tanks in Lajun and provide then unconnected areas with 1,500m³/day capacity sewerage networks. The waste stabilization ponds comprise two sets of aerobic, facultative, and maturation ponds. Each is covered with high density polyethylene to prevent leakage into the groundwater. Treated waste water can be used to cultivate foliage around the facility.
